Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair was formed in 2011 and is a group of likeminded individuals who have got together with the Moro of service to mankind. The main thrust of our Club is education for all and bringing happiness in life of those who are less fortunate.
Some of our key projects are:
- Prashikshan Tuition Centre, a unique center where we give the children inclusive and holistic education in English, Maths, EVS, Health & Hygiene. We also provide stationary and study material to children.
- We run a Clinic where free doctors’ consultation and medicine is provided.
- Our Project SAMMAN, is our initiative of recognising those senior citizens who lead a dignified life, not just by supporting themselves but also their families by earning their livelihood and not being a burden on others.
- ATMANIRBHAR, where we support the unemployed by setting up a shop for them or by providing support by which they are able to earn their living.
- MICROCREDIT, where we support the needy monetarily for earning a living, by providing them with a cycle cart, sewing machines, laptops etc., which they pay back in small amounts in a year or two.
- UNNATI working towards the up-liftment of the village Sankijahan, by make the people self-sufficient and take them above the poverty line.
Other than the above we provide scholarships to needy students, provide medical support - monetarily and by providing medicines, regularly organise health check-up, eye check-up camps, provide lunch to the underprivileged and do many more such projects which bring happiness amongst the lesser privileged people.
