Wheels of Hope – Wheelchair Distribution at Tata M

otary Club of Calcutta Mayfair successfully implemented the “Wheels of Hope” project by donating 30 wheelchairs to Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. The wheelchairs will be used by cancer patients requiring mobility support while undergoing treatment. This initiative was made possible through the generous contributions of our club members, their families, friends, and well-wishers. During the handover ceremony, the hospital administration expressed its appreciation for the Club’s contribution, acknowledging the positive impact this donation will have on patient care. The project reflects Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self and to improving the quality of life of those in need.

Thalassemia Awareness & Ration Distribution Program

On 14 July 2026, Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair, through RCC Suchetana, organized a Thalassemia Awareness & Ration Distribution Program. The awareness session educated community members about Thalassemia, its prevention, early diagnosis, carrier screening, and the importance of regular blood donation. Following the session, essential ration kits were distributed to 15 underprivileged families to support their nutritional needs. The initiative combined health education with humanitarian service, helping improve awareness while providing immediate assistance to economically weaker households. The project reflected Rotary’s commitment to disease prevention, community welfare, and compassionate service.

Project Samman – Honouring Dignity Through Service

On the occasion of the 16th Installation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair on 06th July 2026, the Club proudly launched Project Samman. Under this initiative, 10 senior citizens who continue to earn their livelihood through hard work despite their age were honoured for their dedication and self-respect. RCC MANAN HEALTH CHECK UP CAMP AND STUDENT welfare

The Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair, in collaboration with RCC MANAN, organized a comprehensive Community Health Check-up Camp to improve access to basic healthcare services for underserved people. The camp provided free General Health Check-ups, Blood Tests, ECG, Blood Pressure Check-ups, Eye Examinations, and distribution of essential medicines and eye drops. Approximately 250 community members benefited from these healthcare services. In addition, daily-use essential items including hair brushes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body soap, detergent, hair oil, Maggi packets, Cadbury cakes, and Pond’s powder were distributed to around 100 students of RCC MANAN Gurukul (Classes I–X) to support their hygiene and well-being. Health & Hygiene Camp at Old Deshbandhu Nursery &

On 1st July 2026, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair, in association with RCC Sankjahan, organized a Health & Hygiene Camp at Old Deshbandhu Nursery & KG School, Sankjahan, Kultali, South 24 Parganas. The project aimed to improve women’s health, hygiene, and community well-being. A total of 150 reusable sanitary pads were distributed, 150 beneficiaries underwent Thalassemia screening and basic health check-ups, and 150 nutritious food packets were distributed to needy families. The initiative promoted menstrual hygiene, preventive healthcare, nutrition, and disease awareness while supporting underprivileged women and families, reflecting Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self.

Tree-Re Planting & Care Project

Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair successfully completed a Tree Re-Planting & Care Project at Maidan, Kolkata, on 5th July 2026. Following severe storms and heavy rainfall, the club joined efforts to restore the city’s green cover by replanting more than 100 uprooted trees, including a 100+ year-old heritage tree. Members worked together with the support of heavy machinery to safely relocate and stabilize the trees, ensuring their survival. This environmental initiative aimed to protect biodiversity, improve air quality, preserve valuable heritage trees, and inspire greater community awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable urban development.

Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair organized Yoga and English Speaking Classes at RCC Sankijahan on 4th July 2026 to promote holistic development among school children. The program benefited 415 students by combining yoga sessions for physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline, and concentration with English speaking classes to improve communication skills, confidence, and personality development. The initiative encouraged healthy lifestyles while strengthening students’ language abilities for better educational and career opportunities. Through this project, Rotary reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young minds with essential life skills and creating a healthier, more confident, and brighter future.

Cloth and Food Distribution Programs

Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair, in association with RCC Suchetana, organized a Clothes & Food Distribution Program at Gourer Hat (Khal Par), Jaynagar-1, on 2nd July 2026. The project supported underprivileged women and children by distributing clothing and essential food packets during Maternal & Child Health Month. A total of 50 women and children benefited from the initiative. The program aimed to provide immediate relief, improve nutrition, and promote dignity among economically weaker families. Mega Rotary Mayfair Healt Camp

Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair organized a Mega Rotary Health Camp at Jorapul, Dakshin Kalikapur, Joynagar, South 24 Parganas on 2nd July 2026. In collaboration with Baromaas Multispeciality Hospital and the Human Development Centre, the camp provided comprehensive healthcare services including eye screening, eye refraction, general medicine, pediatric, gynecology, orthopedic consultation, blood tests, ECG, and cardiology services. A total of 784 patients benefited from the camp, receiving free medical examinations, diagnostic tests, consultations, and health advice. The project improved access to quality healthcare for underserved communities and promoted early detection and treatment of health issues.

EYE CHECK UP CAMP

On 1st July 2026, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Mayfair organized a free Eye Check-up Camp at Bhangar Khal – Aadiwasi Jagrata Sangha on the occasion of Doctors’ Day. A total of 105 beneficiaries underwent vision screening and eye examinations conducted by qualified eye specialists. The camp promoted early detection of eye disorders, provided expert consultation, and referred patients requiring further treatment. The project aimed to improve eye health and create awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups in the community.
